When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.
im new at lock picking and ive been trying to make my own, i got a good tension wrench i made but i cant seem to make a good pick, any ideas?
and also to make it so a safety pin wont bend how would i go about tempering it?
Do a search for Pyro's video... it's a great visual guide to making your own lockpicks. Also, you might want to avoid double-posting. This post and your safety-pin post could easily have been combined.
Gotcha.
I'd still recommend Pyro's video, to which I even found the thread: viewtopic.php?t=6269 As has been mentioned, you might think about getting yourself a set of picks before you make them, or at the very least borrowing a set from a friend just to get the feel of them. It'll go a long way towards making a better pick. And so will using better materials! Try sawblades like Pyro mentions in his video.
Like they said, watch pyros vid. There is also _alot_ of threads with good templates and a really good thread on tempering.. hmm.. cant remember which one it was.
Gl and tell us about your progression!
