warranty

Lifetime Mechanical Warranty - Products are warranted for a lifetime from date of purchase against mechanical failure due to faulty workmanship or materials. The warranty lasts while the original purchaser owns the lock. This warranty does not cover the finish, defects or damage arising from improper installation, incorrect product application, improper maintenance, storage, shipping, handling or normal wear and tear as determined by Weiser Inc.

This is the Weiser lock warranty, so the question is, is pickability considered faulty craftsmanship.
If this is the case many locks have a similar warranty, and we get the money back for every lock we can pick.

No, this is a fight you just wouldn't win. The lock is machined to be able to perform its task. And unless you have a genuinely defective lock, it is performing that task. It does not have a mechanical defect. It has mechanical properties, such as imperfections, that do allow picking to work, but they never claimed it couldn't be picked. Only that they would warranty it against "mechanical failure". If you can put the key in the lock and it turns, it is mechanically sound.

Too bad too... I suppose it would be nice to be able to "trade up". :)
