Need help

I need help with a lock I bought.

It's a 5-pin lock from Corbin. (europe company?)
The 1st 4 pins seem to set, but the 4th pin is set way up and can't move down without unsetting the rest of the pins.
I've tried all sorts of picks, but none seem to get over to pin 5.
I also tried setting them from back to front, but than only the last pin would set.

Do I do something wrong or do I need a sertain tool (I got a 32-piece standard set)
I only unlocked about 5 cheap locks and I'm still learning.
I hope someone has some advice on what to do.

in regards to your immediate problem, try setting them in a different order, maybe the order is 12354? other than that use a long hook to get to the back pins.

but you really should read the FAQ's and stuff before posting and try searching the site.

i had that problem on one of my locks and i had to use a hook on it. It gave me the lift i needed for the rest of the pins without setting the first one too high. The hook solved my problem. maybe it will help yours. and careful with questions like this you are liable to get flamed. also just think through the problem a little locks are just a big puzzle.

yeah, i was doing my best not to flame you, sorry, but you should read FAQ's and things that say "read before posting" and stuff like that, just a tip on avoiding annoying people

hang around for a couple of weeks and you will see just how many posts we get that ask simple questions, most of which have been answered.

This wouldn't be one of the corbin "master ring" cylinders, would it? This would make picking a little more challenging. Have you tried disassembling the lock? As master said, try taking out most of the pins. While you've got it apart, you'll likely discover if it is the master ring cylinder type, as the plug will have what looks like a collar around it.

Ok, 1st of all.. I have read the FAQ and stuff..
I also followed a lot of guides online and I have 3 official lockpick books..(ordered at www.lockpicks.com)

As I said, I've opened a couple cheap locks, but couldn't open this one by 1 pin. So I asked for help on that single pin.

I didn't mean to be a newb or spawn the forum of something..

Maybe someday I'll open this one..
