When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Did you say chick or pick? Which four chicks would I want to be stranded on an island with?

Anyway, mind back on the actual post now... small hook, large hook, small half-diamond, large half-diamond.

Wait... what about tension tools? Are they supplied on this island?

When you run a search, read the explanation to the side and it'll help you search a lot better. For instance, in this case you were probably doing a search for top 4 when you meant to search for top AND 4. (The "AND" is a binary operator saying you want both criteria matched, not just one or the other.) This is why you were getting back so many restults.

Ideally, you'd want to search for varied topics as well, to get best results. Try a search for favorite AND picks and you'll turn up questions similar to the one you've asked. Granted, there are no "top 4" lists, per se, but there is an active thread at the moment discussing the most versitile [sic] pick.

You're on the right track by searching--don't give up so easily. A good search engine can be powerful if you know how to use it. Take Google, for instance. I can find most any information in seconds with it. And it even does wacky misc. tasks for you if you've read the directions. For instance, did you know if you enter a tracking number into Google, it'll automatically link you to the tracking site (e.g. USPS, UPS, FED-EX, etc.)? It's slightly faster than trying to navigate the sites themselves most of the time. (This is particularly true if you have a Google search bar on you browser.)

Ah, but I've rambled off-topic again. Trying the "favorite AND picks" search and you'll find what you were looking for.

Ok, animal I can see, and maybe even bullets, but how in heck are you gonna manage to swallow that grinder and the hacksawy blades? ;)

Is lock island like coney island with hundreds of locked doors instead of rides, and hotdog stands? If thats the case I would want the 4 most commonly used picks.
If your to lazy to find out what they are they go Short hook, snake, small half diamond, and Ball.
I would also want a tension wrench, and money for food.

Not too many people use ball picks; in addition to your list, either a large half diamond, deforest of some kind, or one of the 10 million hooks that Falle and the Navigator set offer.

frostbyte as his name implies, is from the frozen north, they have islands, usually covered in ice, and the chicks are used to keep him warm. he can always get whale blubber to eat, mmmmmmmm muktuk mmm but the locks he would have to play with might be lever locks which changes the whole question.

I would take key extractors so at least i could use them as hooks to catch fish or as small harpoons for fish and i may even get away with opening a lock with them. Nah forget that i would take a satellite phone and call for help
