help with master lock (combinations)

Postby killerangelz » 17 Mar 2005 20:12

ok so i used a soda can and opened one of my master locks but the tin foil did not fit into the other locks.
How do I find the last number of the lock. I have read many articles about finding he 12 sticking points but all my sticking points on all the locks are so dam confusing

example of one
4 numbers that end with 3
4 numbers that end with 9
and 4 mid-points

gimme some hints please...

I've read some where that you can disregard the ones that end in midpoints - im not sure about that though, but here it goes.

The correct last number will be ever so slightly off from the previous 3. For example you said 4 numbers end in "3." If it lands directly on 3, 13, and 23, but 33 is slightly off, then 33 is your number.

Let me know if I described that accurately enough.

master lock ( combo.)

Postby franko452000 » 9 Apr 2005 1:54

you may or may not know but what i do with a master combo lock. well looking at the back of the lock, where the shackle inters the lock. ( outside). draw a center line across the back. from center come back toward the shackle a 1/4 ". sorry you will be drawing this line from your left.ok. now come up the 1/4 " and drill a 3/16" hole. if you don't have a ottoscope..hell drill a 1/4" hole. in some light you can see the gate-ways. repair hole with jb-weld & sand. note: if shackle is open with no combo! can tell ya a way also. nice chating at ya

Is the color of the dial on your lock black?

I have a black dialed Master lock that gave me the same situation for the sticking points.

4 numbers ended in 3
4 numbers ended in 0
4 points in between two numbers

For your lock, if you compare how well the numbers that end on 3 land on 3, and how well the numbers that end in 9 land on 9, there should be a difference. The group of 4 numbers that land on their last digit more accurately are not used for the last number. For example, if the 4 numbers that end in 3 are more obvious than the ones that end in 9, then the last number of the combination will NOT be 3, 13, 23, or 33. The last number will be either 9, 19, 29, or 39.

I hope this helps.
