3g110 pin and cam

Recently splashed out on the safe ventures 110 pick.
Had a nice shiny new 110 lock to try it on,only I can't.
The pick is too big for the key hole!
It seems to be the curtain that is too small.
The keys fit fine though.
Has anyone else had this?
I'm thinking i've either got a one off, out of tolerence curtain fitted. Or more worryingly Chubb have changed their spec. slightly.
Anyboby know?
P.S. Yes I know it could also be the pick but I'm in denial over that possibility!

i have heard of this before,i think somebody said they filed the curtain to make it fit!!!!, bit silly when the pick costs ££££££££££

there was a large batch of smaller curtains, file curtain you will be fine. but fits rest fine, but i know what you mean, pick should fit all

Pinky I've filed down the 110 with a dremell as you suggested, and it now fits in the lock with space to spare!
Do you have any ideas on how I can make the throat of the pick perfectly circular again?

I think Pinky meant file the curtain on the lock - not file the pick (ouch).

I've yet to come across a 110 that the pick actually fits in! As Pinky says, just file the inside of the curtain, slightly increasing the gauge size and the pick will then fit. Only takes a couple of minutes.

I'm sure Pinky will tell you too that this is probably the hardest of the SV BS kits to use! It really is a bugger determining the real gates from false ones...

Sorry , it's the devil in me! Pick is untouched. Just wanted to see the reaction! (though apparently I do look that stupid!)
Got to get a suitable file for the curtain.

i seem to be getting more than my fair share of these things.
I had one a few weeks ago that had a smaller curtain, even a 110 blank wouldnt fit so it had me wondering if I had ID`ed it wrong.
A quick phone call soon put me on the right track.......... Thanks Pinky.

That seems a bit naughty!
So you could get copy keys cut for the lock and they wouldn't even fit in the keyhole!
How bad would that look!
What are Chubb playing at?

I think its only a shame that there is not a changable tip for the mastered 110's, I know you can file the curtain but these locks are buggers at the best of times.
I had the same problem with the pick not fitting, I did file the end of the pick, where the 'bit' is placed as there was some rough metal and then polished it, works like a treat now
Also good idea to measure the pins and make plenty of spare 1s and 2s, if your heavy handed like me they get a little bent a little quick!!

I bought a box of them, 110's. Curtains have jagged edges on all of them.
Look's like chubb had them produced elsewhere!
Sounds as if there's been a dodgy batch!

any of you guys with a cb curtain pick, or even your home made pick, i urge you to have a go at these 110 locks with your curtain picks guys, you may be surprised at the outcome.

Been playing with the 110 for a couple of days and welcome any input. The keys are a different size when you compare 110 and 114 so a bit confused about the thoughts on manufacturing tollerances. Have toyed with a curtain pick and easy enough to fit with drill plate off but too tight to manipulate with on and so worthless for a call out. Reference material I have gives easy i.d for 110 as 114 key blank not fitting. Really want to get this one cracked soon.

it will pick with curtain picks , but not all of them, but certainly does pick with the pin and cam.

my advice is to get a cb pick or one like it and keep trying, its all practice, if you have the cb pick , then pm cb and he will give you some helpfull tips on picking this lock using his pick.
