This lady could know this property well she could know the phone number where to find items in the property, what the colour of the bedroom carpet is and have bills in her name at that address, Because last week she was living there legitimately as the partner of the property owner who has had the locks changed and thrown her out. what else can be done to ensure there is no liability on the part of the Locksmith

i thought of that and i've been trying to think of a solution, but its hard, i thought about having them call the spouse, but they could call anyone and you wouldn't know any different.

i cant think of any way to check right now, i'll keep wondering about it and probably come up with something about 5mins after someone else posts the same idea, lol

I can't really think of a way.

I guess the odds of the house being empty at 2am are quite low then. Someone should be home. However, it being the middle of nowhere, why would anyone with ill-will want to waste time with a lockie, and not just smash the door down with an axe? If the neighbours are five miles away, you could use a *shotgun* and not have a problem.

It would only be if there was a wired alarm that there would be any response, too. I'd use a silent alarm with a dialler rather than a bell in this situation, though, so you might not know, unless you entered via the main door (sensor one) which would trip the entry/exit beeps. So that's not much more help.

The response time would be either five minutes, by helicopter, or sometime the next day if lucky.

I guess the only answer with this one is that it might be some devilish stunt to get into the house while the target is asleep in bed, and hence use someone who can open the door quietly.

I really can't think of a way to tell if they don't have a dog or alarm that would perhaps tip you off... and with a recent ex, the alarm code will odds on be the same, and the dog will know the woman!

Hmm...

That's a good scenario Chris.
As soon as she said she would meet me there, my little alarm bell's would ring. First i would establish it's not a crank call to get you out of bed at 2am.
I wouldn't take my van, i'd take my car with a few selected tools.
Be absolute vigulant before and on the approach to the property!
On arrival, my snapper bar that has a little leather strap attached will be in my jacket sleve!
I would then ask her a question, and tell her i'd call the police if she couldn't answer the question, What dirty washing is in the washing bin? what colour?
I certainly would be 100% alert for any other movement in my vincinity!
But at the end of the day, they could sign anything, answer any question, convince you 100% and we could still be wrong!
An open mind can open anything
