i'll be coming from Loughborough train station in Leicestershire, its in the East Midlands, im just waiting to get a PM back from toomush unless anyone here can answer how much cash you'd probably need, bearing in mind all the beer and food and stuff?

i've got to PM wallaby for directions so i can sort out some sort of train route as well since i know nothing about trains or London. i think its going to take a bit of planning, especially with how soon it is too.

i've only really got some normal picks, a set of SO's and a small set of SO slim-lines, i've got a couple of lever wires too, but i dont have a lock to use them on, so you're probably better than me.

i'll PM Wallaby now and get it sorted out asap, hopefully i've got enough cash to be able to afford it!

doesnt look like i'll be coming, i cant afford the train fare, its going to cost like £28 each way and to have any decent time there to make it worth going i'll have to leave at like 7am to make the train back and stuff. :(

maybe i'll make one in a year or so when i can (hopefully) afford to drive down, right now i cant afford insurance, they want £2000 for a little car!!

Here's a few photos from Saturdays meet .. as usual, nobody's car was safe ... 2 prizes go for invention of the day but cannot say what they are for obvious reasons so you will have to work them out for yourself :-)

Next meet is early in July, Bar-B-Q thrown in for that one ...

I have nominated Sid for a red bull award, working a night shift and then coming here to pick from 7 am through till 1am the next morning ... something else, although 1 photo does show a 5 second pause over a lock board.. tut tut ... where is the commitment ?!

good to see you guys again and all welcome for the next meet ...

Looks like you guys had a great time. Some nice pics, wish I could have been there. How did the sputnik pick work out? Sid does indeed deserve the Red Bull, as he seems to be the one doing most of the picking...unless that's not sid. :?

Well, I am now rested!
Another top day, lots of cars to play with, loads of interest, loads of beer!
The AVA pick is still in construction, no joy as yet..
As for my tension wrench for cars... check this out! Not bad for nothing!
Image

Works also! (always helps)
It was good again to see the amount of enthusiasm we all have, I know to some its a job, living etc... but it is great to get so much enjoyment from what is basically a 'puzzle'
Awards go to:

MrCurious, good effort on the home brew picks and tensions (although, they are not good to fall asleep on!!)
Toomush - your outstanding 'sputnik' pick (and your magic trick!!) and your curtain pick - its great!!!!!
Wallaby - for services rendered, awsome mortice picker! great motivator and trainer of men!!!!!!
Pixel - great car opening jig / training set up /most amount of overlift keys!!!!!!
Kileon (dont know how to spell it!!) for doing everything for three quid!!!!!
Me - for spilling guinness
Cars parked outside - being helpless victims!!!
Sorry if the other fellas who came are on the site and dont get a mention, I have a lousy memory!
All in all, a great day, loads of practice, beer and fun!!!
Heres to lockpicking, the friendships it has made and that b*****d chubb 110!!!! :D

Yep another great meet up with loads of home brew kit.Killieon is definately king of budget tools and they work well. Wallaby as usual was the perfect host, many thanks again.Pixel is overlifting mad with sooooo many sets !! Good to see new faces like mr curious and the others whom i cant remember their names (the beer was flowing  ).Mr curious was soon opening 2 and 3 lever locks with the wires and im sure hes now hooked on this picking lark.
Sid is the man when it comes to pin by pin picking and was in top form that day. The main thing i liked was the fact it was such a nice atmosphere being around like minded people and ideas can really flow with so many heads bouncing ideas around.
Did the sputnik pick work ? well thats our little secret  but im definately going to be making more as ive discovered a really easy method to make them  .

So, who is who in the pics, if anyone is willing to claim fame? A face to a name helps visualise who were communicating with. I might just risk cracking my camera and post in the 'what do you look like?' thread.

Sounds like i missed a good jolly!
Got caught up late friday night, never got home until 7am.
You really should record these events Wallaby, the knowledge and skill's that fly around is amazing and near on forgotten the next morning!
An open mind can open anything

It was a god day. I have posted some further photos of picks made since the day on the following:

http://www.1-2-free-forums.com/mf/icl.html

Sid and Alan will be interested in this as we have been making 2 in 1 picks from the steel supplied by Toomush ... and they work and yes, they cost less than £3 !

Nice work again, The only thing I would change is the length at the end (the tension arm bit) as I keep getting locks with keyholes only cut into the outside of the door!!! these systems don't fit and when you don't have a drill on you it can be problematic!!
Killeon is truly the master of all things below a fiver!!!
Bought some raw materials yesterday, will update once I have a day off to play :D

quite right Sid, but the clever bit is that the tension bit can be changed for diffferent wire lengths, making it quite adaptable for different locks ... get yourself over when ready and we will develop further .... call it a pick making day rather than a picking day :-)
