Upvc window lock

Postby acl » 15 Apr 2005 9:56

I need to get some keys for a upvc window .Normal white handle but the key is going to be a little strange. The lock is small, round black plastic thing with a kind of hex head in the middle,i understand the keys were probably also plastic and would have a hole down them to fit over the hex. After that you just unscrew it. Sorry if i havent explained this too well but can anyone help?

we used to have windows like this at some point, cant remember when or where, but you unscrewed a small hex thing with a hex key and the window could be opened, it only unscrewed so far though then it locked, so that it did not fall apart. i know any hex key could be bought to replace it as long as it was the right size.

i dont know if this is anything like you have though.

Isn't it easier to change the whole handle assembly too one with a more standard lock fitted in it? they are dirt cheap.

andy if you cant find the specified key, you could always get her a small hex screwdriver, that would do the job and would not cost very much.

01623 443655 - from one of Toomush's earlier posts.

I noticed a Vito van parked down the road from me today, with a "Lockstock Wholesale" sign in the rear window. Must try and bump into the driver and see if it's the same place.
