Most guides I have read have told me to rotate the plug clockwise with the tension bar. But if the plug can turn either way with the proper key, then do I assume I can turn the plug either way with the tension bar also?

correct - when picking a lock - all you are attempting to do is replicate the key (basically)

Any guide that says to turn clockwise universally is very silly. Where'd you read that?

Hell, back then they thought the world was flat and water could cure cancer.

Or maybe that's just my parents...

No, that won't work. That's the infamous "flip side" you hear so much about.

Now, let me set this straight once and for all!! The world is definitely flat, how else would map makers (cartographers  ) manage to make a living, if their creations wouldn't fit on a flat piece of paper??

Well, thats what I thought as well, but then this guy showed me a funny thing he called a globe.
Then, he told me the darnedest thing, he said the world spins. Now, if that were the case, I think we would have a whole lot of dizzy people.

The earth spins, now really. What won't they try to sell next?

It IS flat and it DOES spin, which is why it looks round. Spin a square fast enough, what do you get?

Uh-huh. Fo' sho.

doors

Postby raimundo » 22 Apr 2005 10:06

doors can be installed in either the left hand or right hand version according to what fits the architecture, usually a deadbolt that has been properly installed will turn so the over the top direction is away from the door jamb, because the lever that operates the deadbolt is usually oriented up. All this can be reversed if it was installed by an amateur. I can't say how it works in europe, or down under, I just know from watching the simpsons that the US embassy in australia has to have special machinery to make the toilet swirl the proper direction. Now don't get out the boot you aussies. :P
