if the people at school cracked your combo once surely they'll do it again...

buy a lock with a key instead of a combination!

Well, in that emergency case, ask the janitor to cut the padlock with those gigantic scissors then replace it.

Of course, if you had been using it for 3 or 4 years and then forgot the combination after just a "while" of not using it, I'm not placing any money on the lifespan of any padlock you'll purchase.

And of course, if you hadn't been using your school padlock in a "while" long enough to forget your combination, may I suggest that you either leave school completely or weld your locker shut instead?

What I mean is, your story is fishy.

EDIT: In response to your last post while I was typing the rest: Oh exploitable

learn to search matey, it'll avoid getting you flamed ;)

to find the sticking points, spin the dial a few times then turn it to 0, pull up on the shackle and move the dial it should move about 3-5 digits, write down the minimum and maximum, then let go of the shakle, move the dial to 5 and repeat all the way around the numbers of the lock, then go the other way around it, again starting from 0.

this isnt a great explination but it gives you the idea, i dont have a dudley but i remember most of how to get the sticking points from a post i read before, so there are posts out there explaining it!

i personally dont know much about cracking these things, but im pretty sure there should be more than that. read the last post in this thread: http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=7477&highlight=dudley

then have a look at this thread and post the sticking points in it, you'll need to tell them the colour of the dial too, it seems to make a difference:

erm, okaaay... :?

you started this thread saying you bought the lock 4 or 5 years ago, then later in the thread that changed to your friend said you could have the lock if you cracked the combo, then in the other dudley thread you said you found it on the school field. seems a little fishy to me to be honest :?

oh and by the way, the best method i've found of cracking these is a nice big hammer. the thread i told you to post the sticking points in is the people who are trying to work out how to crack dudleys, so if anyone knows, its them. it takes time though.
