Back on topic, I also bought a set from raimundo, albeit not QUITE as big as the one Romstar has shown. Since Romstar has already posted great pictures, I'll just post what hasn't really been posted before.

So I've been waiting for almost a week after I dropped off my envelope. I come home to a package, rip it open, and this is what I find...

Of course, I pop it open, and there they are, a diamond/bogota pin clip set, and the free sabana that raimundo threw in.

Of course, despite the copious amounts of praise raimundo's pick have recieved, I never really understood how great they were until I saw them. I never saw a picture of his picks compared directly to another, so here it is.

With a ruler

If you still can't tell how unbelievably small and slim they are, here's a comparison with a standard Southord short hook.

Raimundo's pick shafts are far slimmer, yet the steel is much harder and stronger. The sides of the picks have been filed so well, the edges are almost circular. I'd feel safe inserting this into my... never mind. I never took it seriously in other people's post, but I kid you not, you can actually see your reflection in them...

raimundo PM'd me, so maybe if i'v got enough money and Her Majestey's customs don't mind i might get a set.

if you do get some mr curious, post here about how they did with customs and how well they work/fit in UK locks, i was considering getting some at some point, but if i cant get them into the country or they're too big for the locks i'll save up and get something else.

The size of these picks is incredible. If you'll look at the picture I've posted with the comparison to a standard Southord short hook, you'll see that it's far smaller than even the Southord slimline set. If you can imagine that picture superimposed onto this one:



which WhiteHat posted a while a go, and I've since saved to remind myself how chunky Southords are. The finish and the small size combine to form an incredibly smooth, efficient, sleek tool. As for customs, I recieved mine packaged in a Certs mint box, as I imagine you would too, if you ordered a set, so customs shouldn't be much of a problem.

Here's a quickie image I whipped up in paint. Any moron with a little patience could do better than I did, but I scaled the picture from the comparison of raimundo's hook with a Southord standard hook with Whitehat's picture of hook comparison (btw nice collection there Whitehat), and modified Whitehat's picture to include raimundo's pick with an approximate to-scale size.



As you can tell, the shaft of raimundo's is almost, if not, the thinnest of all. Only the LAB pick can rival his.

So, I wonder if raimundo will send me any free stuff for all this attention I'm getting for his picks. *cough*
