My first pick (thanks pyro)

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Righto, here's what i've done in the mean time.
Scale the picture to 47% and thats the size of the picks.

Have fun!

Those are some slender picks, even thinner than some I've made. you must use great care with them, when you make really slender picks again, you might want to make them not much longer than a key blade, length works against you with slender picks. 8)

hey, nice to see more people making their own pickcs, i think its a great way to learn about your picks, get to know them and then pick better as a result :)

that pick futhest right though, the long rake thing looks seriously thin, as does the 1/2 diamond, they're nice picks though, keep em comin!
just be careful when you use them, hopefully it'll teach you to be light handed with them since you dont wanna break them ;)

$hit....raimundo was right.

My half diamond snapped in my training padlock....sad really.
Any tips on how to get it out? Its just a small bit off the tip...maybe not that small...
I could cry now

Addi, nice to see you keep up the pick crafting.

About the broken diamond: make a key-extractor pick. Should be plenty of templates out there. Not to hard to find.

Tried that...it doesnt work, i even held a computer magnet against the opening of the padlock in the hope that the piece would come flying out...but oh well.

It seems i have to make a thicker halfdiamond and a keyextractor today :(
darn :(

My ascii art isn't too good, but try to make something like this:

|\
|\
|
|

The '\' part is sorta like a barb on a fish hook, designed to snag the broken part of the key/pick :P and withdraw it as the broken key extractor is removed. Perhaps a straightened out fish hook would work...
Image If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!
