Jacknife Set

Just ordered the jacknife set, have been lockpicking for 3 years now and havn't broken a pick once (touch wood). Just wondered, was that a good thing to do? I like the looks of it and will be really handy, but i been reading the forum and have found that some people don't like them. Why, is there anything seriously wrong with them?

Gear is more than anything a matter of opinion - some guys claim it reduces feedback from the pick, others say that it's nice to be able to get to a variety of picks fast. It's up to you. Try it and see what you think.

I don't like it because it has horrible feedback, and also because the picks keep comming loose and moving all over the place.

I have one, I carrie it around, Its good to have. But I prefer a longer pick. It just is to small for me.

Great to carrie around in your pocket just in case, but gives really bad feedback. Thats what i've heared.

might order another set then, i will have that one and another set...any suggestions on a good set, don't need anything fancy...was looking at the beginners set with free book, looks good. Any ideas lads?

Any ideas on a good, nice looking, the BEST quility hard wearing basic pick set then please give any ideas down here because i want to order tonight so it gets here for tomorrow or soon as poss

Don't worry about it, i orderd a 15pc slim line lock pick set, looked pritty nice and will be a lot easier to use than the jacknife, thanks again people.

well, if you are considering a jacknife pick set, i would recommend the southern specialties fps 7. i havent tried the southord set, but after buying this one, (no offence southord) why would i want to? you can buy replacement tools, it locks up perfect, and i realized myself that if it ever came loose you could move the screw alignment one notch over and basically use this thing until the next millenium. as far as feedback, i think it gives excellent feedback, because richard has pretty much eliminated play 100% with this design. i might add that i buy a lot of machined products for various hobbies and his machining is excellent. has a nice homemade feel, and everything just seems to fit cozy... the tension tool storage is ingenious, and its all made of very good "memory" spring steel. it bends occasionally for those tough pins, but always returns to true, at least for me. and im just an apprentice, so anyone with some real skill out there would truly enjoy this set =).

i might add that the folks lockpicktools.com are a pleasure to deal with, and shipped everything lightning fast. ingenious packaging too! =) i definitely like the card. (youll see if you get one)

Cheers lock ness, got it yesturday, its better than i expected, very nice feel to it aswell and much lighter than was expected, all in all, a good buy
