Well, what I did for my picks (just made over the weekend!) was take a good scan of someone's picks, resized it until the ruler included in the scan read 1:1 cm with the Photoshop ruler, photoshop the tips I wanted onto a seperate document, get rid if anything around the tips, print them out at 1:1 scale, in black and white, cut them out (I cut out the pick shape itself, with a bit of paper around it, so it sould be taped to the metal), traced the inside with a permanent marker, and started cutting.

Search for lockpick pictures here, or try Google images. :)

Just make your own and experiment!

Oh, wait. Sorry, you asked for no-one to say that.

O.K. have a search ^. Go up to the magnifying glass and click it. In the top right box, type pick templates and hit return. You will find around 124 hits. Search within these hits and you will be sure to find what you are looking for. There are plenty of examples with a ruler beside them. Whether the image needs resizing or not, a ruler is always in the same increments.

Now open wide, the aeroplane is coming...

The document formerly called the MIT Guide to Lockpicking has some of these useful shapes in the appendix.

What should we call this, spoonfeeding, or breastfeeding?

Anyways, here's a great set of templates, I don't know if they're to scale, but they're pretty close. Thanks to d_b for posting this in an earlier thread in the Questions forum, I found it through a search. :)

Given the initial post, I think both are applicable.

I have had good success with cutting the 1:1 template out and sticking it to the metal material with spray adhesive. You then just grind away the white parts. Be sure to let the adhesive dry long enough. Otherwise, the heat from grinding will cause it to loosen. Also, print out an extra image of the pick to match up the pick as you are putting the finishing touches on it.
