Dealing with suppliers varies with different personalities. Sometimes you need to tickle bellies and sometimes a laugh and a joke helps. Rarely does the abrupt professional attitude get you far but has to be done from time to time. If you get to know your suppliers and take time out and be polite, this will often reap rewards. Remembering names and an amount of small talk always help to ensure you are remembered for the right reasons. Can you remember the last time someone impressed by remembering your name and their polite attitude. Everyone switches off to a ranting rude customer. City safe have been good for face to face dealing and SKS although having trouble with their couriers have been quick to put things right. And i'll continue to spread the word about Inexcess as they have loads of locks at really cheap prices for the high street. Yale cylinders with 6 keys for £4.95. Chubb 114's for £14.95. I am in no way connected to this store but find these temporary prices easy, cheap and convenient.

Hi ACL, sorry I can't be more specific but Inexcess is a nation wide chain that buys up end of line and bankrupt stock. Also if a shop decides to change it's range they buy it in bulk. They do not put a big mark up on but sell quickly. I have heard rumours but know no facts that they open a warehouse once a month where trade and public can go and buy in bulk, otherwise it is a case of using their shops. The one I use is in Southampton. I think the warehouse is in Sarisbury.

i've had order mix ups with sks, given that they're told the order no. and the name of the object it's hard to see how a mistake can occur in packing, esspecially since the invoice is correct. they did get it sorted in the end.
if i ever manage to get a catologue from citysafe, i'll frame it and hand it down father to son through the generations. if a company isn't going to use it's webpage or respond to emails then they shouldn't be allowed one.
