Here is info on picking lever locks:

1) Lever locks can be picked;
2) There is lots of information about picking lever locks here on LP101;
3) There is a Search button up there at the top of the screen.

Now, would you care to ask a more specific question? :)

Would anyone care to explain to me what exactly a curtain is? A picture would say a thousand words.

The curtain is the part that the key goes into, some locks the curtain throws the bolt and on others the key does the work,

It is the curtain which dedicates the gauge of the lock as well,

The idea is that once the curtain is turned nothing else can get into the keyway,

They are generally a round disc of metal with the keyhole in the centre, this is on the inside of the lock,

I am sorry but i still havent replaced my stolen camera so am a little stuck to give you a picture, sorry.

5 lever BS locks have these and in most cases you will not find them on non BS 5 lever, 2 lever and 3 lever locks but there are allways exceptions.

Hope this is of some help until pinky or such a person comes on explains better and gives you a picture.

Try this thread for pictures. http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=6337

The silver part at the top of the keyhole is the curtain it prevent you getting wires in like you would be able to on a non curtained lock. These are not always silver so it can help with id'ing a lock when fitted in the door.

you say you want details of chubb square locks, which ones, as many exist.

on the whole with a good degree of skill a 2 in 1 pick will open these, with a lesser degree of skill but deep pockets the specialist pin and cams will pick these locks such as 6K174 ( isolator ) 6K175 locks, or if you are a true lock god such as Alan Morgan then 2 homemade bent wires should suffice.
