When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Medico challenge

Postby jamo » 16 May 2005 13:20

Ok i did a little search on the forum and came up with the link to a medico deadbolt UL437 and according to medico it is vertually un-pickable as i am from the uk i have no chance to test this so i was wondering if anyone has managed to pick this "un-pickable lock" ???

Bary Wels has a video on http://www.toool.org that shows him picking one. There are several members around here that claim success. I am working on one now, but with only limited success (thus far only with 3 of 6 pins). For the most part, discussion of these locks is restricted to the advanced forum in the high security locks section. Some discussion tends to be allowed in the regular forums but as soon as the information becomes useful it will likely get restricted. Many businesses depend on these locks for high security. This is the reason that the info is restricted.

Cheers!

I'm pretty sure you can obtain a Medeco cylinder in the UK. People often get them off Ebay for quite reasonable prices.

If you obtain one, you can take it apart and see how it works. Then you can think about how to pick it. Half the challenge lies in working it out for yourself.

Jamo: Chances are that you will not have much trouble locating this particular model on ebay. However, if you cannot seem to find it, a couple of our medico brochures feature medico cylinders that are retrofited for compatibility with other common brands of lock hardware.

Some of these are brands that are not as commonly found in the U.S. (CHUBB, for instance). My guess then, is that one of these cylinders may be easier to come by in your area.

romstar

Romstar says he picks them, I am very skeptical about romstar, and skold reported picking one just a few days after he recieved it from me. I am skeptical.
