I can't open the one I'm trying to open because I'm using paperclips but I'm getting my picks anyday and I hope I can pick it a lot easier, I'll tell you how it goes.

I bought a 5-pin kwikset doorknob at the local hardware store. I was going to take out some of the pins and start with like 2 or 3, but realized I didn't know how. So then I figure I might as well give it a try, and I figured it out in what I guess was just over a minute. I was suprised at how little time it took. Now I can usually get the same lock in under 5 seconds .

My first lock didn't take me that long, But that was probably because is was one of those cheap desk locks (wafer tumbler).

Well, I cheated and bought a practice lock with the hull cut in half so i could see the pins moving about. But my Kwickset I bought Idid in under 10 and my front door in under 20. Two months later or so and I can open all three in under 10 minutes with any of my 12 picks. I think I'm gonna install some better locks in my house....
Blah Blah Blah, Yadda Yadda Yadda.

My backdoor deadbolt is hard, and my front door lock is really busted, so it's actually nearly impossible to pick, becuase you need an insane amount of tension. I can barely get it open with the key.

my first lock was an old abus diskus lock which i think they discontinued. it says the champion on it and it has an eagle printed on it also. i think it was just luck that i got it opened since i didnt really know what i was doing. im not sure but it might have had mushroom pins. its still a challenge for me to open and im into my second week of picking.

I must stink...it sure took me a long time (about 2 days) to get my first one...but after a lot of turmoil I have a collection of about 8 locks and I can open most of them within a minute.
My friend tried mine and opened two of them within a couple minutes! Of course I had a nice set of tools by then and showed him the right ones and the right amout of tension to use. When I first started I was using poor tools and too much tension...part of the reason it took days :/

Took three days, and it was a master padlock. Sure am glad I didn't retire then, though, because now if a master padlock takes thirty seconds, I'm pretty surprised.

You must specify what lock. I started on a 2 pn lock which took me about 3 min to pop. Is it 5 pin we are talking about? You should say a specific pin number.
Of course by then you would be rather experienced.
