If it is an Interchangeable core and not a removeable core there will be a smaller diameter pin at the back of the lock that operatates the pin that allows the lock to be removed from the IC housing. You do not have to mess with this pin to pick the lock. The only fuction of this pin is for a control key to allow removal of the lock from the IC housing. This is only if it is an Interchangeable core lock. Keep picking and you will get the hang of it. Most schlages that you run into use no security pins. As a matter of fact of all the schlages that i have picked I have only found one that has had security pins instaleed and it was purchased at lowes hardware. Just keep picking and you get that lock open. Another option would be to drop by your local locksmith and pick up a standard 5 pin schalge and start with it. A standard 5 pin cylinder brand new can be picked up for around $9.00 us.
