no problem, i figured pretty much everyone knows about it, so it was a safe technique to post in the open forums.

failing that could you use another entrance, go in from the inside and dismantle the lock?

anyway, im far from a locksmith, so these are just the ideas i've got off the top of my head, im sure someone will be along soon who actually knows about these locks!

as i said, good luck, hope you sort it out.

Does the door open inwards or outwards? If it's outwards, slipping the bolt is probably easy...if it's inwards, prying back the architrave would reveal the bolt.
Image If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

If there is enough room for a wedge or air wedge see if you can get an eyeball on the latch mechanism. The anti 'shim' bar sometimes snaps and jams the latch on some, more used locks and put the code in and then gently force the latch back

Quite often on the cheapo versions the bevelled latch will detach from the flat bar. The bar is drawn back but the end stays in place so the door will not open. Test the movement in the door and if it feels as if the latch is loose, sometimes the lock will not reset if this has happened.
Try entering the combo then turning and holding the knob open then slip or wedge the latch back. The anti thrust will be inactive if the flat bar has been drawn back.
If they have recently changed the combo number they may have reassembled it wrong.

Aww cred, that really is a bummer,

There are various ways to determine the combination of both the simplex style and the cheapo's but cant be posted on the public part,

There is also an easy bypass to all digital locks that you dont even touch the buttons to achive

and always check that they're turning the handle the right way, some knobs turn both ways but only engage the catch on one. worth checking if it's someone who's just been given the code recently.
