Exacto knife

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

6th from bottom is a tubular pick. Missed that part of your post, sorry.

For both picks for exacto handles AND tension tools, wiper insert is where its at.

I use hacksaw's for my hobby knife picks...i cut a HSS blade in half (about 5mm) then make my pick to the correct shape and size that i want then sand her down.

The blades used in hobby knifes are way too brittle to create picks from

Doesn't look like its anywhere near long enough. Take chucklz advice, use windshield wiper inserts. If you can get a ride to a nearby autoshop type place and ask where they have thrown away their used windshield wipers, I'm sure the staff will be happy to help you out.

If you do find somebody who's very helpful, ask about his work hours, and leave a tip for him.

Too small, by quite a way. Take a look at the size of a key for your length, and use hacksaw blades or feelers, or even the bits off windscreen wipers.

But arent they too thick to fit in the knife inset where I put the blade?

Nope. You do need to widen the slot where you put the blade a bit with sandpaper. Not too much, just a wee little bit. Just fold some 100 grit sandpaper in half and use that. It roughs up the gripping surface as well

A friend can hook me up with a steel rod he uses for welding. I will hopefully get it tomorow.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. 1.)Go to your local garage autozone etc, and get the binned wiper blades. Use those inserts.
2.) Go to a hardware store and invest 2 dollars in a cheap plumbers snake. Use that.

A plumbers snake is a long snake like metal object used for cleaning drains. I know of two varieties. The first looks like a long spring. This isn't the one you want. You want the one thats a flat metal band. If you cant find a cheap snake, look for a cheap fishtape, which is basically the same object, but with a different end and a different use (snaking wires through walls).
