What can i add to this set of lockpicks so i can consider it as a "full: set?

Some sawtooth rakes. That's the only thing I can think of. Nice set. What are those picks 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th from the left? They look too thick to be rakes/snakes. Also, are all those picks inserts for the hobby knives at the top of the pic? If so, they might be too long. Mind you, that's all I can tell from the pics.

chrispy, i think those are called matador rakes if im not mistaken?

they're not part of a "normal" pickset, but take a look at the falle-safe lock pick sets (there's pictures on http://www.crypto.com), you could try making some of the hooks they have with the big curve on them.

you've got a nice set there though, well done. how well do they work? as skold said, they do look like they could use a little smoothing, just make the edges smooth and polish with like 600 then 1200 grit paper for a nice mirror finish and silky smooth picks

whats going on with the pick 6th from the left? is it just the way the light caught it that gave it those weird markings or what?
also, have you snapped any picks so far, because they do seem a little thin in some places (8th pick from the right for example).

well done though, it looks like you spent a lot of time on them! you've got a nice set there.

Thank you Master. What locks are they used for? I've never come across them before. Are they supposed to be that wide? Couldn't find them on crypto.com either.

Nice set! I must admit, i am a little suprised that you included matadors in your first pick set. And i cant figure out what the pick with a square-looking top is for (ninth from right).

i also meant to check the link before i posted but i hit the wrong button so if its wrong... :oops:

anyway, the picks are for locks like DOM cylinders, or Kaba Gemini's, the kabas have 3 sets of pins in laid out like this:

or something like that...my drawing skills arent up to much! anyway, since the pins are at the side too, you find its hard to get a normal pick in there, but those ones fit nicely, i suppose keepying them full width gives them a bit more strength. (in the kaba at least) there arent any wards for you to worry about, so you can make the picks big and flat and it doesnt really matter as long as it does the job.

9th from right, the little flag shaped one is for dimple locks, ie multi lock. it's turned in the lock to raise the pins. you can also make one with a gap in the tip for raising just the outer pins, if you encounter the pin in pin system.

To clean up the picks, you should follow raimundo's advice on making bogota rakes. This is going to be a bit time intensive for some of those picks, but in the end your results will be well worth the effort.

I dont find it necessary to carry ball picks or double ball picks but that is just me because i just rake one side of the lock with a diamond then turn it over and rake the other side and repeat. But if a ball or double ball would be easier for you go ahead.

Nice picks also, i must have ago at making the picks for the dimple locks seeing as i will be getting one soon

I'm no expert but I've heard some people use tension wrenches too :lol:

-I know you got them too, just kidding. You might wanna take your favorite hook or half diamond and make a slimline for euro types, and a thin one for tight keyways.

Nice set though- could you cut them down some and store them inside your x-acto? that could be really handy.

Lol. I think its what you want in a set. I like hooks so i will have alot of different hooks... you might like rakes... i would say its your decision if that set has everything that you need.
