Vachette HDI 5 pins tumbler lock Go crack it

Postby Lupin. » 6 Jun 2005 7:10

Ok hey guys, i've been picking lock for half a year now (without training that much thou) and I'm actually facing my first real challenge.
I'm quite unable to pick that one (only been trying for 1 hour thou) .

Here's the thing : Vachette HDI basic 5 pins (euro lock), silver , rotate both clockwise and anti clockwise.

If you've already encountered such a lock I'd appreciate some pieces of advice Ty.

Sorry I aint got no pictures of it and will try to find some as soon as possible.

Not much use, that!

Is it a standard cylinder lock? Does it have a sidebar or anything? Those pictures are just too small.

As far as I'm aware the HDI is similar to the V5 but has protected key profiles.
Where did you get it? It may be masterkeyed.
Just five pins and an awkward keyway, but a worthy challenge.
The bottom pins have grooves too.

An awkward challenge i'll tell you.
Some friend of mine actually got me that lock so i don't really know where it exactly comes from.
As a begginer I'd like to know what are those grooves you talk about, might be helpful, who knows.

is this model has some lateral dimple pins on ?

if yes... the cuts are only 0 or 1 so most of time when picking it by hand you don't need to have to pick them and try to not touch them during the picking process

if you have better pictures I think I could give you some advice
