hi
came across a euro yesterday tried to pick it no joy, it is the 2nd one i have come across and both times couldn't pick it by hand or with electric pick, the lock has a big C on the front i am wondering if this is a corbin lock as they are supposed to be bit of a mare to pick ( hope it is and its not just me  )
off the topic a bit, i have done a few repo's now but yesterday was the first one were there was someone in,the baliff banged hell out of the door and window no one answered so i started to pick the lock, didn't have to do much as the door opened by the occupant saying "what the hell are you doing" as if she didn't know! anyway loads of shouting and crying, changed the locks feeling crap all the time, the baliff then says to me you wouldn't mind staying as the 2 sons are supposed to be violent  ,
didn't mind as it was a woman baliff

The Corbin's I've come across have had Corbin written on the cylinder inside a circle which looks like it could be made up from back to back C's, but they may also come as you describe.

As for picking, no they are not the easiest, and I wouldn't even try by hand myself, especially on a warrant or similar where time is of the essence. As far as normal pin cylinders go, I rate them just behind GEGE as the ones I least like to come across on the door.

Out of interest, who are you doing the repo work for Cred?

My father gives me locks, he is a maintenance carpenter for a canadian university.
All he has given me so far is corbins, if they are as tough as you say i may need to go find an easier lock for my first pick...
imagine though if for a first pick i got one of these corbins, that would be quite a feat...
i have four of them unmounted, i should put them in and see what i can do with them.
the best part is that there are four and they are all totally different, all from different years (more like decades).
if anyone has any info at all about corbins i would totally appreciate it, any info at all as i know nothing about them.
cheers!

Even though they are differant ages you may find they still all work on the same key because of where they came from

Have a go at them and enjoy, if you get it in your head they are an impossable lock you will never open them consistently.

Hi Cred

The Chavo cylinders i have all require very little tension using the HPC gun and feather the tension on and off quite quickly. Let me know if that helps as i haven't seen any with one big C on the front, only four small c's.
