Knowing when a pin is down

I get it you find which one is the "stiffest" ok I found another post after searching really, really hard. ok well that works, which is the stiffest is that right? Also what happens if you hit the loosest?

It won't set, unless the lock is very, very, very low quality.

Stop thinking so much and just pick the lock. It could be any of the pins first, then any of the remaining pins second, etc etc.

Just reread that. I don't mind answering questions -- that's what I'm here for, and I didn't want it to come across like that. Sometimes I find, though, that your head can get in the way of your hands.

After you understand the basics, a minute of experimentation is worth an hour of posting/reading forums. Get your picks and give it a shot, then ask about the problems.

The loose pin will just fall back down, as long as there is more friction on another pin.
