A challenge from Master lock? a contest maybe?

Master 6230LH

Solid steel high security padlock resists tough abuse.
2-1/2" wide hardened solid steel body.
Hardened boron alloy schackle for superior cut resistance.
Special spool pins are virtually impossible to pick.
Rekeyable-replaceable cylinder and shackle.
7/16" thick shackle
7/8" x 2" inside opening of shackle

Special spool pins virtually impossible to pick?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I feel it is our duty, nay our priveledge, to take up this challenge.

I was trying to get my hands on more security pins, when I stun=mbled across this add. Seems like a pretty big boast to me. Here is the address:

If you haven't noticed, most lock companies locks are "virturally" impossible to pick. They think they can't be picked, but that doesn't mean they can't be.
Yeah...and the boron shackle doesn't stand a chance against my DeWalt angle grinder.

Hmmm....

Perhaps their boastful advertisement is aimed at the lockpicking community. If every picker saw this and bought one, then there would be a significant sales boost for this quarter.

Sigh... that advert isn't from Master. Check out the "real deal"

All of that said, *I* certainly wouldn't want to try picking one.

Of course, I don't really want to try picking most anything tougher than an anemic Kwikset. Locks scare me.

no one is missing anything with theese. They are crap unless the have a paracentric keyway. Even with the keyway they are still rediculoulsly easy.

you are right about the standard 5 spool pins. They usually only need light tension to easily set the spools and open the lock.
