how the heck do you use that off-set pick needle that comes with a pick gun? instructions say its for when the regular needle cant reach the lock or something but i have never once had that problem. anyone ever find a good use for that thing?

You use it just like the straight pick. The instructions say when there is an obstruction to use it. I have not run into this case either, but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist.
