Can you please tell me what does it cost for insurance i mean insurance for when you are doing work on peoples houses...

Public liability,

I pay £250 a year but ive heard of people only paying £150, it depends on cover and area required,

Whatever you do tell them you do not do hot work or else the premium will go skywards, mine used to be over £1k a year!!!

Most insurance companies will have some sort of liability insurance on offer, the brokers may not be the best place or price in this case.

I pay £78 through gladiator insurance for 1 million liabilty.

I joined the federation of small businesses this year and i got my insurance from them for public and my shop and tools and stock in van. £2mil public £10,000. vantools £3000. van stock and loads in shop cos of cutting machines etc might be worth joining as there is lots of other perks
