Shrub when was the last time you were bothered to help someone?

You really should do a search, Shrub has a lot of helpful posts and threads. His latest on the Bosch Screwdriver/Pickgun was extremely interesting and (I think) the 2nd longest post (behind Romstar apparently). This comment was not called for, even if you were joking, which I don't think you were.

Earth as a location may not be original but it is from one of the most popular (USA - to help) comedy's in the last 10 years so if you can guess then respect ;0)

I can't guess, please, share...

If i have mentioned lockwood locks in this post and several others does that not tell you where i live?

Oh dear! We seem to have another dilemma...

Do we boldy continue to try and force-feed the 'unwilling_to_educate_themselves', or do we leave them to end up getting banned due to personal attacks, then allow them to rejoin under a different (less argumentative) username?

Why choose 'skilless' as a user name?

The reluctance to read through 25+ pages of good quality posts suggests the wrong attitude for a member of this forum. You have here, the most informative and helpful resource on the web, bar none. There are countless members just waiting for a post to which they can reply with their own experiences. But, when the same topics are brought up time and again, rather than having to retype verbatim what the member is seeking, the next best option is to refer to the search function.

Another question...
If someone used a word you didn't understand, would you demand that they explained the definition to you, or would you spend the time to look it up in a dictionary?

Would that be 'ignorant' as in "he was ignorant toward the information he was offered", or "his responce toward the information he was offered was ignorant"?

Lockwoods are easy - 9 total pin sizes but they usually are made the slightest bit harder if the springs are larger..Infact every lockwood lock would be easy if the springs were not so large.

Im guessing its just a standard C4 keyway? no speacial broaches such as JA?

Don't you just hate it when the newbs try and tell us whats what..

I may be wrong but i think it is time to start reading the post Shrub

Unfortunatly, just mentioning Lockwoods doesn't tell us where you live. Whilst some of us can guess where you come from by the way you spell or the way you write your posts, that is only true for the native english speakers.

This site is frequented by people from all over the world. As has been mentioned above, please use the 'Profile' link at the top of each page and at lease enter a State/County and the Country you live in. Many of us won't openly give out the towns we live/work in, but it really does help others to know the correct geographical area.

My bad, the jumped up little kid stuff got me started.
I quite often have a go at people who do those random use the search button posts without giving any other information.
If only you were big enough to just answer my ignorant, jumped up little kid question in the first place ;0)

The Earth quote is from seinfeld - not that anyone will know it.
Now i have to do a search on smoking keys (tempering?) - thanks chrispy

Do NOT try to "smoke" an aluminum key.... :roll:

In fact, don't try impressioning it either...get some brass or nickle/brass key blanks to impression with. Aluminum keyblanks wil NOT stand up to treatment you will be giving it during the impression process, so you might as well start with the proper blanks in the first place.

In the FAQ section there's a good bit about impressioning and the technique used.

I know in the FAQ it said an aluminum is too soft i just wanted to know if anyone had tried doing it. When i'm sick of my new lock i'll give it a go and see if it is possible.

I see your still unrepentant

As a tip to anyone who cares, if you ever want to aneal aluminium get a bar of regular hand soap and rub it across the part to be softened, when heated the right tempreture is when the soap turns brown. Very handy if you want to bend some but it keeps fractureing and breaking.
