I do fully agree with above, and I hope you'll never find me swearing in an inaproperiate way/context. Nevertheless I think filters don't do any good. There are well known ways around them and nearly everyone uses them regularely. I'd prefer to treat people the way they behave. If they behave like stupid m0r0ns, everyone should see it, and they should be treated like some. This gives people feedback, on their behaviour and enables them to learn aproperiate behaviour. Don't make their posts make them look better than they are. If you want to make people look more intelligent, why don't you just install "which pick should I buy" filter.

Filters treat all people alike. This does ignore all the points made above, wich, I think, is planely wrong.

I do see this discussion may be kind of pointless as most likely noone is going to remove the filter, even if there was a consensus that they don't do any good.

Yup, you could space out the letters so that the filter doesn't pick it up. J u s t l i k e t h i s......

Sorry....

Not to get back on the original topic  but I think my first post may have been wrong. I just found an Abus 55/40, which may be similar to yours and it does in fact have security pins. It is certainly pickable, but, as a rule it would not be my first choice to learn on, as it may be a bit frustrating.

p.s. the lock has a "Made in China" stamp on the bottom, is this normal? it's the only Abus padlock I own.
