Abus Granite padlock questions.

Postby Shrub » 5 Jul 2005 10:27

Ive had a good read and cant find definative answers so i ask here,

I am wanting to make an Abus Granite decoder and could do with knowing how many key cuts there are and at how many differant heights?
I have summised that there are 8 heights and maybe only 5 cuts, am i close?

The other question is how simular to the tibbe system is it? does the tension have to be put on a particular disc and there could be more than one of that disc or is the tension point always at the end of the keyway? and which end? (keyhole or shackle),

Do the discs have propotionate cuts in, i.e is each cut 10 degrees to the next one or are they at differant spacings?

Barry "The Key" picks one of these locks in the H2K2 video with a decoder, and I believe he mentions the amount of disks. You can find that here viewtopic.php?t=588 perhaps that will help slightly.
Lock picking is an art, not a means of entry.
