You can catch a big fish with a little hook, but you can't catch
a little fish with a big hook.

This is a good start:
Read the FAQs. they have answered those questions over and over,
probably even in European, too.

Uh, and by the way, don't forget to fill out your profile so you don't have to write your country every time you post.

Slimmline picks will be fine for you.

There is a "I'm new" thread at:
http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=2218

Oh yes and: search, read, search again, read again, ...(I'm pretty sure you get it)
I really doubt there are lockpicking related questions in your mind which haven't been answered over and over again in this forums.

I guess i'm kinda supprised to see that you havent been flamed yet...

But I would suggest searching before you post in the future. And deffinately read through the FAQ's as they will answer most of your questions as well as help you progress through learning the art of lockpicking. Have fun

Hi and welcome to lockpicking!

If the locks in your part of the world are the sames as those in Riga, Latvia, then they are not normally the small keyway type that we have in the UK say. So many of the locks would not need the slim picks anyway.

Most locks in the UK can be picked without using slim picks and if they can be I would not use them, as they are easy to break if you are new.

So to start with I would get a very small set of picks for standard US locks as they are robust and will open most padlocks and pin cylinder door locks in your part of the world too. When you get better you can get an nice set of slim picks which you will then be able to use without fear of breaking them.

One think is use to know though. Most small pick sets have a pick with a circular end, and I would file this down on one side to make it a half circle, as once this is done it is often the best starter pick around.
