Quick question, are you Italian or Romanian? Steve Hampton's Secrets of Lockpicking is a good, easy to read (in English) book and might be a good choice for you. Southord is a fine brand, and is sold via a german vendor. Welcome to the forums, and good luck.

The book in question is called Locks, Safes, and Security by Marc W. Tobais and can be purchased at amazon.com.
Great book.
Cheers!

Speak for yourself Santos.

I don't think I am wrong is saying it is the most complete book about locks on the planet (at least available to the public). It covers the history of locks, everything from padlocks to safes & vaults, lock forensics and destructive and non-destructive opening techniques. Of course, the electronic version is more up-to-date but the book is a great reference. The only downside is that it is two huge volumes and really expensive.

Sorry I wasn't clear plugaru, I was talking about Locks, Safes, and Security by Marc W. Tobais. It will show you and talk about dozens of locks, security pins, safe locks mechanics and opening techniques (some you may have never heard of). However it doesn't cover auto opening at all.
You may like Modern High-Security Locks : How To Open Them
by Steven Hampton, available on Amazon. It covers several higher security locks with specific advice on how to pick most of them. It is a little dated but has nice cut-away pictures and is pretty cheap.
