No. Invest in a decent pickset or make your own. A needle is probably the last thing I'd try to pick a lock with except a shoe.
PLEASE USE THE SEARCH FEATURE BEFORE POSTING A THREAD!

Yep! There are a few pickers using needles...usually the diabetics. On the other hand, some of those unable to string together a legible sentence could be mistaken as using needles.
Just use the search function and edumacate yourself.

I shouldn't have said that...now he'll start a thread saying "why doesn't this shoe unlock the lock?"

Actually, after reading the original post again, I think I can provide some closure to this thread. I believe the original question was "Can I pick a lock with a needle and something else?" O.K. here is what is needed:
1.) A tension wrench
2.) A lock-pick
As for the needle, I have heard wonderful things about accupuncture

if i somehow got a needle
i still can't get over him not being sure if he can even find a needle... modificate
. before i can pick a lock
the subject asks if he can pick the lock, yes, but the actual contents of the post provide clear evidence that he is confident in his ability to pick the lock with a needle and the question is changed to whether or not the needle needs a "modificate" job

*puts on flame-proof suit*
Man, talk about a tough bunch in here.
I get the noob thing - EVERYONE was a noob once - and if anyone says they NEVER posted a question until AFTER they read EVERYTHING and searched it ALL, they're not telling the whole truth.
If I started here and had no knowledge of this topic - none at all - how the heck would I even know what to start with. True, reading the FAQ's etc. would help, but man, if the glossary is half-way through an FAQ section, and I don't understand the terminology used up to that point, I'm still lost...so I'd post up. I'm talking about the basics of how people function in life - if a person isn't one to research things in their life, they won't here...even if it's all available and labeled "START HERE".
And really, is this grade 4 and we're in the sandbox - "Look at the poor kid who can't spell" - man, talk about intolerant. Any chance this guy/gal is simply form another country without a firm grasp of the English language? This IS the Internet...and it doesn't end with North America.
Now, that said, I personally agree that folks need to research questions before posting. They should make every effort to spell correctly and put down well thought out and coherent thoughts. Maybe I'm just more tolerant of stuff like that.
I moderate in a couple other forums, but will freely admit my inbox doesn't get crammed with crap from new folks wanting unrealistic access to restricted areas. I see my fair share of noobs, but, like I said, everyone was a noob once.
Unfortunately, though I'd love to believe this is a case of some foreign dude wanting to learn more and work with may be handy (can't justify the "if I could somehow get" part) - maybe advcance his skills, etc.
BUT, like more and more places where e-skills are bandied about, I suspect more and more that posts such as that are made by underage or teenage kids interested in a means to and end, or being able to impress someone.
That bothers me because great places like this become cluttered.
Heck, why not, after saying to read, search, see the FAQ's, etc., simply lock the thread - that might cut down on the noob posts over time (just an idea).
I'll shut up now - I just hate seeing people jump a guy because he has poor spelling, etc. Off-base ideas, though, well, those ARE the responsibility of the poster... intolerance I hate - lack of research, well, that's your own choice...

The suit not enough?
Well, your post has valid points of which we commend you for having.
However, after almost every newbie has posted something that could easily be found by searching, or asks a question that falls into the category of *Sigh*, people start to revert to either mentioning the search function or simply disregarding the question.
In relation to the spelling and grammar, some long-time members still have spelling and punctuation problems, yet are extremely knowledgable.
I also would hope to think that the LP101 community is a caring lot but after a while.... you just don't feel like repeating something that has been said time and time again. The OP was not that bad of a question.... but it was bad enough.
Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....

/me ignores the people distracting from the flaming.
"Can i pick a lock with a needle and something else?"
No.
Can I?
Yes.
Oh! Burn!
I'll be if I'm gonna let a little thing like an actual point or direction to this topic take away my oppurtunity to get a one-liner in.
