Ease up there robert-e, below is the post which started the mocking:

MasterKey905 wrote:Hey guys this is really easy..........take dental floss and pack the keyway till it's full........spin the plug and use your pick to get the dental floss out and away you go..........I know....I know I'm brilliant right???......pro locksmith tip just 4 u!!!

Now, the above post itself is informative, there's no doubt about that. But, consider for a moment, that the same tip was posted only five posts previous.....which goes to show....NOOBS DON'T READ!

Hence the mocking.

The method itself is not in question. Hope that clears things up for you.

^

Yeah yofu, you got the idea.
You have to spin the plug fast enough, so that the drivers don't get chance to drop into the pin chambers. Stuffing the keyway, however, means that you can just turn the plug normally.

Why not just put a straight pick at the top of the keyway? A pick small enough to get in between the bottom and top pins. Some wire maybe?

You're joking, right?

In case not, how would you do that, considering the flange on the plug? Do you mean feeding a wire over the top of the front pin, to the back of the keyway? What if the front pin is a #0 or#1?

Please explain in no more than 2,000 words.
