My "Wallet" Set

Hi everybody, I've been browsing lockpicking101 for about 2 weeks and found lots of info! I have purchased southord pick tools from lockpickshop.com (I put heat shrink over the handles for grip). I also came across raimundos bogota pick how-to documents (btw, great looking picks), so I decided to make a "wallet" set to carry around. I used windshield wiper blade inserts for my homemade picks. After some hours of filing and sanding, my "wallet" set is finally made! My wallet set has a bogota, 2 small hooks, and a small diamond. I’ve been picking locks for about a week and I can pick my deadbolts and 2 Master no.6 locks using my southord set and my wallet set! Overall, I find picking challenging and fun at the same time and lockpicking101 forums has very useful information!

my pickset is a real one that i found it works great,some of the picks are colored handles, i could never make them like the real ones tho.They are in a proper leather pouch,ha real groovy.I am glad that i found them,cos now i know i want to be a locksmith.

THey look great. Did you use any powertools or just files and sandpaper?

Just files and sandpaper. It took around 3 hours from start to finish to complete one pick. I'm pretty satisified with them though.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to other useful pick designs that I could use? I want to make more, but I don't know what to make.

You've pretty much got it covered for your wallet set. There are heaps of other shaped picks you could make, but what you have in your wallet set is all you'll need. Now start on a homemade regular size (as opposed to wallet size) set.

I made 2 more picks yesterday. These ones are about 1/2 in longer than the wallet picks.

I must admit, your picks are amazing. The finish is brilliant, the shapes are great, that bend looks like it could be useful.

I do have one bit of advice:

The bottom pick in that picture appears to bottleneck, which could prove to be a weakness.

Yeah, I realized when I was done with the pick, it was a little thin. Let's hope it doesn't break on me. The winshield wiper inserts i'm using are pretty thick though. Here's another pick I finished an hour ago.
