If my theory is correct, its the dash thats killing your "wiseass".

yep...the dash makes a s s a new word, which is filtered, while if its incorporated into the word with no dash, then it doesnt filter it. it only looks for a s s alone, instead of a word including a s s.

anyways, we really need an edit button.

Shadow, follow the tang of your pick to the handle, it gets wider, at some point the shaft will start to to push against the first pins. That is the only thing that would prohibit picking higher pinned (6-7) locks, that and the added skill required

That's the way threads go sometimes...they are not sole-property.

Rest assured, if your pick was in need of a major overhaul, you would have been told. Take the lack of critique as a pointer that you are going in the right direction.

I agree, pat yourself on the back for a job well done. But if you look at most threads, they're hijacked about 10 posts in.... unless it's a really interesting topic.

and anyways back on topic...the pick you made looks nice.

now you jsut gotta file that allen wrench down to usable size, and make a couple other picks, a rake or two, maybe some other cool stuff, and you'll have the beginning of a nice set.

They look good shadow I don't know much about rakes so I'll leave that critique to others, I like your hook though, you may find you need to thin the shaft a bit for tight keyways, then again you may not. I like the handles, what are they made of? If you can get some sandpaper anywhere from, 600 to 2000 grit, wet sand them with a little oil, it will make them nice and shiny
As for your wrench, you did what I did on my first one. It is filed so that it will sit at a 12 or 6 o'clock position in the lock. You may find this comfortable, you may not, I found I like to have it sit at about 3 o'clock-just personal preference.

They look like nice strong, stout picks. Let us know how they work

I like the one without a covered handle, is that a Falle copy?

It seems almost identical to a Peterson, it looks close to the Falles, but the spacing seems too long. I would say Southord, but can't see the same pattern. I'll wager a dime it's a Peterson, any takers?
