Ok so i got this lock from homedepot i alredy tried to link but it didnt work so...

Anway after like 10-15 min a day for about 2 weeks i finally picked this lock.. I was so happy when i finally got it i almost shat my pants. Its such a good feeling when you pick something you have been working on for days if not weeks. I picked it about 20 times now and can do it in under a minute most of the time.

I finally got the right tension!! YAY :D :D :D :D :D

Yeah I know. The lack of an edit button just kills me.

I know what you mean! It feels so good to "master" the lock so quickly.
I have a master #5 and #140 that I can open with any of my picks in less than 10 seconds. I tend to play with those locks more than I do the American series 700 that is currently kicking my butt.

I started off with one pin and worked my way up to 5, each pin adds exponential difficulty to the picking process.

uhh its kinda late so ill post a pic tomorrow.. nothing tough just standard 5 pin. As far as i can tell the pin cylanders (term?) are staggered cus i set the first 2 pins then it turns and i set the rest.

Term you're after is chambers. I think that's what you're meaning. Staggered chambers? How far does the plug turn?

Sounds like spool pins to me.

Nvm about that staggered chambers.. It was just the further i got in the more i would be hitting the pick against the tension wrench and it would move and settle in there..

That happens. Especially with my southord kit. But with my LAB kit, the picks are thin enough not to get caught up against the tension wrench. Home made picks and rakes from sweeper bristles rarely get caught too.
