Brinks combination lock

hi i'm trying to pick my first lock. its a brink combination lock http://www.lockcity.com/brinks/Products3.asp?target=Combination%20Locks
andd i can't find anything on the forums about how to pick it. if someone were to help it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I regret to inform you that its impossible to pick that lock. Have a look around for shimming or manipulation, you'll get better results. The basic idea is to feel out the lock or plant it on a master graph.

I have found that the Brinks combo lock opens with the method described at http://www.geocities.com/masterunlocked/index.html except that the method for finding the last digit is different.

The way to determine the last digit is, IMO, easier than the similar Master combo lock. Using the terminology from the materunlocked website's photo of a disassembled lock I will explain:

While pulling on the shackle turn the dial CCW. If you don't put too much ot too little pressure on the shackle you can "trace" the shallow notches on the cam while spinning the dial. What I mean is you can feel the pawl dropping in and rising out of those notches. When the pawl is inside a shallow notch in a Brinks lock you can feel the friction of the pawl touching the cam by wiggling the dial back and forth. When the pawl is in the deep notch (your last number) that friction is absent. I have found this works on the Brinks combo lock and other similar non-Master combo locks.
