Yes, a small propane torch and 2 pliers were used to make the bends in some of my picks. I couldn't bend the metal without heat treatment. I found out that if I used too much heat, the metal will become soft after it has cooled down (a bad thing). Just make sure the metal doesn't become too "red hot".
