Mods will delete posts sometimes. One was recently moved to the "locks" forum, that may be the one you're looking for, I think it was about automotive locks.

use the search function and search for the title of your thread. If it comes up inconclusive, your out of luck and it was deleted. But most likely it was moved.

I've tried to view a couple of threads that the mods have deleted. Kinda annoying.... :?

A post is not deleted without a valid reason. Posts may get deleted if:
1. the post is a very common question, likely to be flamed.
2. the post is a very common question and has already been flamed.
3. the post relates to illegal activities.
4. the post is advertising a product.
5. the post is nonsense, created by someone messing around.
6. the post is political/religous.
7. the information in a post is not for the general topics.
and so on....
Sometimes an email link to a particular thread may appear to be non-existant, but the thread is still found in the relevant section. I suspect the reason for this, is that the thread is currently being edited by a Mod and the post relating to the number within the email (e.g. ....p=12345#12345), is the one being edited.

Or maybe I'm waaaay off. :?

Though I have no idea what the original thread was about, I can tell you it no longer exists. I'm sure there was a good reason.

A lot of threads on BS picks have been deleted, edited or locked due to the mass bickering of members and advertising for certain picks by the sellers/makers of them under an alias account,

Any usable information on BS picks is still on site, looking at your link and the numbers on my archive files it would appear your thread was deleted due to stupid questions and bickering,

If you have a search on BS picks you should find some info that should help, admitedly there isnt much about them on site anymore due to them being deleted and what there is doesnt really help on picking them, have a look at pinkys posts on picking lever locks, they are probalby only the ones still around that might give tips on opening mortice locks,

Unfortunatley 99% of all the BS mortice lock talk has moved with members to other sites so if you need any specific info feel free to ask again.
