The Easiest yale lock

Postby tshock » 4 Aug 2005 16:59

I recently had the privilage of picking a 6 (maybe 7) pin yale lock. It took me about thirty seconds to rake it open with a bogata. I then decided to rake it with my southord snake pick and found that i could open the lock in 1-2 seconds by simply inserting the pick and pushing up (while keeping moderate tension). It was simply amazing and made absolutely no sense at all. Does anyone know why it opened so easily?

a) the key combo could have matched the rake designs (likely)
b) it could have been masterkeyed (less likely)
c) you were imagining it? :P (must have been those shrooms...)

Also, are you sure on the number of pins?

My guess is that it was just a crappy pin configuration. I saw an american padlock key that was virtually sraight besides one or two cuts. That is just how smart computers are. :?

I guess it was just a crap pin config but i wasnt even raking it, i just pushed up on the pins and it would open. I tried again with the bogata and opened it in two rakes.
