Hello everyone,

I bought a lockpick set last week, it has 14 picks in it, i thought it would be a good start for a newbie. Now i tried some locks in my home, i opened some but i still don't really have the fealing....
I read on this board that fealing will come if you practice with a lock where you take some pins out. I really wanna do this and i have a tutorial of how to take the pins out. The only thing i want to know is: Whats the best practicing lock i can get?
I hope you guys can tell me this.

PS: i am from Holland (Europe) so i guess we have some other locks then in the states.

Thank you
FleM

A lot of people like the easiest locks -- Kwikset, Dexter, Weiser -- to learn on, since, well, they're easy. The flip side of that is that they can be SO easy that they practically pick themselves, and you don't learn very much from the experience except that Kwiksets suck.

Be that as it may, it's a good place to start. If you're not into it, you can just jump ahead and find a Schlage or something similar, which is a nice learner for the pin-removing method.

Dunno what's available in Holland, though. Maybe the UK folks can chime in.

yeah i tried some easy locks and i openend them, at first i thought i did a good job. But the locks are really bad, and 2 easy, i won't learn from it.
Do i have to buy a good front door lock or something, from a good dutch brand?
I already know some people who wanna learn me to remove some pins...
