When i was practicing on one pin i wasnt sure if i did that one right. Because the pin wuz up when i released the pressure in turning it it fell back down. Did i get the pin right?

I assume you're working with a deadbolt that has all but one pin removed... in this case you know when you've got the pin when the plug rotates.

Nope. It sounds like you bound the pin, pushing it past the shear line. use less tourque

A good way to know if the pin sets is you can still move the pin but there is no force from the spring on it. If you can turn the lock upside down and see if it moves. Then rightside up and if its in a different spot you most likely set the pin. Good luck
