When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Well they were looking great and as usual the camera makes them look bad. The snake rake i made was also really nice ( not to brag ) Then it got a bit to hot, bent horribly so im left with something ok but its not as good as the original.
I turned 1/2 the scisor piece into a snake rake
The saw blade into a Hook
The other saw blade intot the straight thing
And the Knife blade into a 1/2 diamond that is a bit deformed..

Feedback is great... I have a few locks that i have picked before but with this tool its 10X easier. You can feel exactly whats going on the only downside it chaning tools is a bit tough. I usually just have the rake 1/2 way out then rake it pop it back in w/ one hand and use the rake which was fully out. I have to thin out the straight pick a bit though..

Looks good; nifty idea too. I'm suprised someone didn't think of this before, seeing as how it's stainless steel, there's plenty of separate tools to be converted to picks, and you can just pick up the $3 or $4 cheapo 'camping knife' types you can get at Wal-Mart to do this with, so if you screw up it's not a big loss.
What are you using for a tension tool? You should figure out a way to get the tension wrench attached to the knife somehow--I'd get a knife that has one of those little slots for tweezers/toothpick and then use that to hold the tension tool somehow.

Yeah you would really have to thin them out quite a bit, im looking at a swiss army knife right now, if its anything like this, almost half the thickness would need to go...

I seem to recall there was a similar tool in Keith Melton"s book on spying. They were issued to spies in the cold war.
You'r not a spy are you?
just joking......

CRAP MY COVER IS BLOWN! ::HIdes under desk::
Lol, ya the stainless is very strong and it took a while to grind down but it was worth it.. I did have to thin them out a bit and could have even gone a bit thinner but wanted to see if they would hold up like this. My first attempt wasnt bad and i think im gonna keep doing this.. My 1/2 diamond is terrable lol..

Is there a little keyring type of device on it, or a hole where something like that would go (someone who knows what I'm talking about help me out)?? It's the thing that you can attach a lanyard to; you could somehow attach a wrench to that, I'm sure (maybe drill a really small hole through the wrench and then loop a lanyard, tiny keychain, safety pin, etc. through it and the lanyard hole in the knife?).

AH HA! I just looked at the picture again and I see exactly what I was referring to on the left-hand side of the knife in the second picture. It's that little loophole thing.
