..Hi everybody..

Today I have a little question..
Last week My father decided to buy me a Garrison Padlock because i was starting the lockpicking and i ask he about a new padlock like the Master :

http://www.masterlock.com/cgi-bin/class ... =22&Go.y=5

Photo of my padlock :http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y291/bacillius/3b51e664.jpg

these last 5 days i have try to lockpick my padlock but i didnt delock it  ..

today i have read a post about my padlock : http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y291/b ... 51e664.jpg

my question is ... :

-i want to know if the Master lock is the even thing then my Padlock Garrison... because if i want to start i will pay for another padlock without security pins....

- and if Want to open my padlock ... if he can be called a ''Beginner Padlock''

Thx for YOur Answers

First of all, thank you for searching and providing links, you get bonus points. Your English is a bit low, is French your first language? if so fine, I understand you well enough, if not please try to conform to normal standards.

Masterlock should be easier than your lock (no security pins)
Your Garrison, following the thread you posted, probably has security pins (Spools, mushrooms) and is not the best for a beginner.

-good luck, save your Garrison, you'll pick it soon enough, just go for a cheaper lock until you get going, what picks and wrench are you using?

Welcome to the forums Diamond :D

Fill in your profile, we have many people, much more knowledgeable than me who speak French. We are also used too many different languages, if your profile is filled in, you won't get any crap.

I haven't heard of the book you are reading, but the MIT guide will give you enough information to open your lock. Can you get a deadbolt lock and remove all the pins but one? This will probably help you more that anything

My experiences with Garrision is that they are actually not too bad for a novice, though probably a bit much for an absolute beginner. A number of my friends with only moderate picking skills have picked a couple Garrison padlocks that I have. So Diamond, if you're stumped on the Garrision, set it aside. It will not be long before you are picking it.

Duke: If you'd like to get some very good advice from an accomplished French-speaking picker, drop a PM to 'Jimmie':

there are, but in my opinion the MIT is the best one. Check this site, a quick search found it. http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=588
