Yo peepz , just spent 12 hours non-stop checking out the site (got plenty of time being a part-time computer tech who doesn't answer the phone 'till he runs outa beer money ) and have gone from elation to depression and from sadness to maniacal laughter ! Have been meaning to get further involved in this subject for some time and this place has convinced me that NOW is the time. Looking forward to a long, informative and happy aqaintance with some of you. Love the sharing , love the ethos and now , falling in love with the subject. {:¬)#

Santos, don't you mean a microscope? Telescopes are for seeing far away objects where as microscopes are for seeing close small objects.
ANyway, welcome to everyone and SEARCH

Heya, I'm just starting to pick. I've already gotten good with simple padlocks (Under 30 seconds consistantly). I'm into hacking, and I've gotten pretty good, although I would only call myself an intermediate hacker at best. Anyway, I hope to learn a great deal more about security.

Howdy, just wanted to say "hi", and introduce myself.
Name's Trey, and i'm located in Kansas City, MO. I work for Pop-A-Lock, and we primarily do vehicle unlocks, and roadside service. We are just now starting to do re-keys, making new keys, etc.
I'm trying to teach myself the locksmithing side of business, as I know there's a lot to learn!
I've been picking residential, and some business locks, but about 1 out of 10 locks i've tried to pick just won't cooperate. Every time I run into a lock I can't get, I try and look in up and figure out what I did wrong, and what I need.
So, here I am, just a little fish in a big stream.
I posted a message in the Club section, and hopefully will get a chance to meet some of y'all in the future.
Trey
All I want is for my wife and my girlfriend to get along...

Hello. I'm a lurker turned poster. Thanks for the many hours of entertainment.
Picks: I have the remains of an inherited set of southords, a dozen or so homemade picks and rakes. I'm in computer networking, and I need to open the tubular lock on smartjack cases (why do they have to mount them 8 ft. in the air if you need to see the lights on them!) about twice a month, so I'll probably make/buy a set of tubulars next.
Lock related Interests: I'm intrigued by safes, and the magic behind them. I can pick the little sentry fire safes fairly easily, and am learning manipulation on a (legitimately) borrowed gun safe. (by learning, I mean making graphs that look like the seismic activity of the San fernando valley whilst spinning the combination dial fruitlessly.) I got it open once, so I know it's possible. No, I don't use a stethoscope, unless I'm playing doctor.. (I locked my drill in the safe to avoid temptation.)
Non-lock interests: All over the board. My wife would say I collect tools. I do handyman work on the side, and am a decent plumber. I built a MythTv dvr. I do php, perl, and Coldfusion web development. I've installed a handful of stereos and a remote starter on cars. Tomorrow I'll be stripping wallpaper and next weekend I'll be tiling the bathrooms in a house I just bought.
What can I bring to the group: I work for an isp, and have a fair amount of bandwidth to play with, and more if it gets serious...

I've been interseted in lock picking since i was young, and have known much about it, as my father is an ex-police officer and certified locksmith. the biggest reason i started actually doing it, is because i was sick of looking for lost keys or having keys that are cut badly not working. look forward to reading and learning more on this site.
Cheers!

Welcome and SEARCH!!! Have fun learning how to pick, and remember to never pick locks that you dont own or have premission from the owner to do so.
