Deadbolt Dismantle

Well I'm trying to just improve my "mind's eye" of what's going on inside locks whenever I do something. I have an EZset deadbolt, is there a way I can take it apart and watch it while I pick at it?

you could take a dremel to the outside of the spring houseing but not enough to let the springs get interfered. Also i find it ironic that lock companies tend to call their product tings like ez set or kwickset. kinda giving it away in my openion

Don't forget to take it apart before you grind it. If you don't, you'll waste the springs and the driver pins! There are several tutorials/threads on dismanteling locks. A quick search for rekey, repin or dismantle will bring then up.

Nope, I never wasted a lock like this, I actually never made a cutaway myself as I never had any problems visualizing what's going on inside a pin-tumbler.

Well. Do remove the pin stacks. I wouldn't quite call it required, but it's a very good idea.

Yeeeah, F that.... lol I'll just practice... I don't feel like grinding a lock for a half an hour to realize I screwed everything up.

Get a, in knob lock, FILE it in a vise after removing the pins and springs, and it'll be easy (and worth it, these things can cost upward of 50$ on the retail market..)
