curtain wheel pick gauge

Postby soul man » 1 Sep 2005 11:50

Can anyone help me? I have been asked by a friend to post this question as his computer is not working at the moment. He is looking to buying a curtain wheel pick however he is unsure which gauge pick will be the most beneficial. He works in the london area and comes across Chubbs 114 ERA Unions etc Thanks for any help you can give. P.S How do you determine the gauge of a lock ie a chubb 114[/b]

5 Gauge, the chubb 114, invincible etc are 5's with the profits etc 7G,

Get a 5 G or tell him to get a 5 G :wink:

5G = 5.5mm od ish,

7G = 4.5mm od ish.

OK It's probably best to ask this question here, rather than start another thread. These gauge numbers used for keys. Are they Standard Wire Gauge (SWG), American Wire Gauge (AWG), Brown & Sharp (B & S), Birmingham Wire Gauge (BWG), Stubs' Wire Gauge, or Washburn & Moen (W & M).

I mean does anyone *really* know? I mean I could take an intelligent guess, but...

Im guessing here but none of the above, they will be a British gauge so which one is it you have missed out?

Ill tell you my thoughts tomorrow and let you have a guess first,

Saying that i could be wrong and its SWG afterall :lol:

Well I believe SWG to be British. The numbers could fit, but as I say I don't really want to guess!
